K-drama addiction is a thing. I mean, really, google it! There are even tons of questions online, about how to stop being addicted to K-dramas! Why did my addiction started? How you can keep it on a level, that will not disturb your sleeping cycle or work schedule?
Well, a lot of people love watching movies or TV shows. Some of them enjoy “binge-watching”, which is watching multiple episodes of a TV show in rapid succession, typically via digital streaming these days. In the past, I had various favorite series from different countries, but when I discovered South Korean dramas, I was so captivated that I was completely absorbed in watching them. It was no longer about finishing one drama. Once I finished, I immediately had to find more and more… And I’ve been watching a lot of different dramas at once. I love the appearance of Korean actors, their eyes, their smiles, the language. I like the way Korean romance is presented, so tender and intimate. I like the soundtracks. Does that sound familiar to you? You are probably a K-drama junkie as well!
My first K-drama was Crash Landing on You on Netflix. It was so romantic! Then I watched King the Land with Junho and Yoona, which was such a good mood booster! Then I discovered The K2 thanks to YouTube. A perfectly blended mix of emotion, action, and romance with an amazing soundtrack. And Ji Chang-wook of course. I fell in love with him and had to watch all the dramas in which he starred. After that, I started looking for other interesting K-dramas, both on Netflix and other online sources.
Watching K-dramas brings me an escape from hard reality. After a tough day, there is nothing more satisfying than watching a K-drama that contains a mixture of romance and humor. It is a perfect relax. But there’s a big risk here. You can easily slip into the aforementioned binge-watching and start a vicious cycle of sleep deprivation, which has a negative effect on your health. Another danger is that it can lead to unrealistic expectations about life. Yes, especially when it comes to your love life. Don’t forget you are watching a fiction!
I am trying to balance my everyday life and watching K-dramas now. Self-control is a hard thing, isn’t it? In addition, I started this site to share with you the joy of watching K-dramas. Because that’s what it should be about – enjoying them in your free time, not instead of your sleep, work, school, or family.
